Selena Gomez recently shared her future career aspirations, expressing a desire to shift her focus towards acting. The multi-talented actor-singer hinted that her upcoming potential album might mark a transition away from music.
While Gomez enjoyed her musical ventures, she acknowledged that acting held a special place for her, a realization that dawned during her time on the beloved Disney Channel series "Wizards of Waverly Place" (2007).
Recognized for her collaborations on hit singles like "We Don't Talk Anymore," "Taki Taki," and "Calm Down (Remix)," the 31-year-old artist also boasts albums such as "Revival," "Rare," and "Revelacion," released in 2021.
Reflecting on her journey, she expressed, "I started having a lot of fun with music and then touring was really fun. But I was doing my TV show at the same time ('Wizards') and I just found it really fun."
As she matures, Gomez finds herself drawn towards the idea of settling into a specific career path, hinting at one last album before potentially pursuing acting more prominently. She admitted, "The older I get, the more I'm kind of like, I would like to find something to just settle on. I do feel like I have one more album in me, but I would probably choose acting. I am going to wanna chill because I'm tired."
Looking ahead, Gomez is set to appear in the fourth season of Hulu's "Only Murders in the Building." Despite her successful music career, she confessed that her original ambition was always to pursue acting. "I never really intended on being a singer full-time but apparently that hobby turned into something else. I don't think I'm the best singer but I do know how to tell stories and I love being able to make songs," she added.
