Hollywood singer and actress Selena Gomez and her fiancé music producer Benny Blanco are not in a hurry to get married.
The newly engaged pair recently discussed their wedding plans and their upcoming collaborative album, I Said I Love You First, as reported by People magazine.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Blanco, 37, said that Selena has several ideas for her ideal wedding, but they're not in a rush to make any decisions. He added, "I think every day she's planned a new wedding in her head. We're very much 'take it one day at a time'-type of people. We're still not over this moment. Literally, while you were talking, she was sitting there staring at her ring."
Selena continued, "Also, I really feel like this is just such a magical time that we're able to put it into this album and just give our heart and soul to it, and just translate what we're feeling and give it to the world. That's really my priority at the moment, at least.
In December 2024, Selena revealed she was engaged after Blanco proposed to her an oval-cut ring with a six-carat marquise diamond. The proposal occurred while they were on a romantic picnic, where Taco Bell was also included.
When asked if using Taco Bell in the proposal seemed too informal, Blanco said that he and Selena just like to live their lives. "There's not this whole elaborate thing.". I think we're really fortunate to be surrounded by such wonderful people, and we've still just been having so much," he said to Rolling Stone.
"It feels like we got engaged yesterday, but also feels like we got engaged 20 years ago. I've known her since she was 18, and so it's like we got all that business out of the way. By the time we're dating, it's like, whoa.". My greatest regret is that we didn't do this sooner, like we waited this long to be together. But I know it was perfect and it was right."
