Riteish Deshmukh Takes on Dual Roles: Directing and Acting in Upcoming Film Tribute to Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj

Actor-director Riteish Deshmukh has unveiled his next directorial venture, "Raja Shivaji," centered on the life of Maratha empire founder Shivaji. This Marathi-Hindi bilingual film aims to portray the journey of a young Shivaji, his defiance against formidable powers, and his transformation into the revered Raja Shivaji, as per a statement from the production team.

"Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj is not a mere historical figure; he is an emotion, a timeless saga of valor, and a beacon of hope that has illuminated hearts for over three and a half centuries. A rebel whose courage knew no bounds, he didn’t just rule land, he conquered hearts, earning the endearing title of ‘Raja Shivaji’,” remarked Deshmukh, who previously directed the successful Marathi film, “Ved,” in 2022.
