The fandom's favorite police procedural streaming series 'Kohrra' is all geared up to return with its second season. This crime thriller, set in Punjab, promises to delve deep into the nuances and complexities of society.
The continuation of the show was announced on Tuesday.
Mona Singh, seen in shows like 'Kaala Paani', has joined the cast in the new season.
Co-creator and showrunner Sudip Sharma said, "'Kohrra' is much more than just a show to us; it's a piece of our hearts. We've given it everything, and to see the love which it has gotten is incredibly moving. It has encouraged us to return with something more strong. We are committed to telling stories that feel real, reflecting the lives of real people in their raw and authentic forms, and that is exactly what you will see in this new season on Netflix.
The actor, Barun Sobti, who received much appreciation for his character of Garundi-a young police officer hell-bent on solving a tough murder case-will return for the series.
Season one received widespread critical acclaim for its perfect blend of crime, emotions, and revelation of the human psyche, which were brought in the foreground with breathtaking performances.
Other known actors in the first season included Harleen Sethi, Saurav Khurana, Rachel Shelley, and Manish Chaudhary. It was based on the dead body of a man that was found two days prior to his wedding, and how the story shows the police officers solving the case amidst personal struggles.
The second season will be written and directed by the showrunner, producer, and co-creator Sudip Sharma along with Faisal Rahman.
Produced by Act Three Productions and Film Squad Productions, Kohrra 2 is all geared to hit Netflix soon.
