Actress Nicole Kidman has confirmed that 'Big Little Lies' Season 3 is in the works. In an interview with Variety, she mentioned that they are actively working on the new season, and she and co-star Reese Witherspoon are in constant communication about it. While they didn't reveal many details, the confirmation adds to the buzz generated when Reese Witherspoon mentioned during the Golden Globes pre-show that they are indeed working on it.
Casey Bloys, HBO and Max content chairman/CEO, also confirmed that he has heard about the idea for a new season and expects David E. Kelley to be involved, along with input from 'Big Little Lies' author Liane Moriarty.
In addition to her work on 'Big Little Lies,' Nicole Kidman is also involved in the six-part limited series "Expats" for Amazon Prime Video. Directed by Lulu Wang and based on the best-selling novel 'The Expatriates' by Janice Y. K. Lee, the series explores the lives of women in Hong Kong in 2014, whose lives intersect after a sudden family tragedy.
Nicole Kidman expressed her excitement about being able to champion such projects and share them with a wider audience. Wang, the director of "Expats," praised Kidman's role as a producer, highlighting how differently she functions in that capacity compared to her work as an actor.
