Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty was hospitalized in Kolkata on Saturday due to reported chest pain. The actor, who is also a BJP leader, was admitted to the hospital around 10:30 am after feeling uneasy. Currently, he is undergoing treatment, and his health condition remains a matter of concern.
According to a hospital spokesperson, Chakraborty was admitted for medical evaluation, and further details about his condition will be provided later. A doctor at the hospital mentioned that the reports of the MRI are awaited, and Chakraborty is currently in the Intensive Therapy Unit (ITU) under the supervision of a neuromedicine specialist.
As of now, Mithun Chakraborty's family has not issued a formal statement or confirmed the news.
Mithun Chakraborty, who recently appeared as a judge on the show Dance Bangla Dance, was honored with the prestigious Padma Bhushan in January 2024. With a prolific career spanning over 350 films in multiple Indian languages, he expressed disbelief upon hearing the news of being awarded the Padma Bhushan.
