Renowned actor Manoj Bajpayee and accomplished filmmaker Neeraj Pandey are set to revive their acclaimed docuseries franchise, "Secrets," in collaboration with Warner Bros. Discovery for its third installment.
The latest chapter, titled "Secrets of the Buddha Relics," follows the success of its predecessors, "Secrets of the Kohinoor" and "Secrets of Sinauli: Discovery of the Century" (2021), and is scheduled for release two years after the last installment. Narrated by Bajpayee and created by Pandey, the series explores ancient legends pertaining to the final days of Gautama Buddha and the relics that hold significance at the very heart of Buddhism, according to a press release.
The upcoming documentary will unravel the origins, cultural importance, and mystical tales surrounding these relics. It aims to delve into their global dissemination and the pivotal role they have played in establishing Buddhism as the world's fourth-largest faith. By examining the various types of relics and their classifications, the documentary seamlessly weaves together historical and mythological narratives, providing viewers with a comprehensive understanding of their significance in Buddhism.
Scheduled for release on streaming platform discovery+ on January 22, the show will also be broadcast on the Discovery Channel on February 26 at 9 pm.
