Rapper Kanye West, known for his controversial nature, finds himself embroiled in yet another legal dispute.
The estate of the late Donna Summer has filed a lawsuit against Kanye, alleging unauthorized use of a sample from Summer's hit song 'I Feel Love,' as reported by ‘Mirror.co.uk’.
According to legal documents, Kanye, along with Ty Dolla $ign and Ye's record label, is facing legal action for incorporating Donna's 1977 song into his recent album 'Vultures 1,' specifically in the track 'Good (Don't Die).' The estate claims that permission was explicitly denied for the use of Summer's vocals.
Bruce Sudano, listed as the Executor of the Estate of Donna Summer, aims to safeguard Summer's musical legacy, often hailed as the 'Queen of Disco.'
The lawsuit highlights the estate's refusal to associate with Kanye West due to his controversial past and emphasizes the rejection of his proposed use of 'I Feel Love.'
Allegations in the lawsuit assert that Kanye and Ty Dolla $ign disregarded the denial of permission and proceeded to use the song without authorization.
This isn't the first time Kanye has faced accusations of unauthorized sampling. Previously, he incurred the wrath of Ozzy Osbourne, who accused him of using Black Sabbath's 'War Pigs' without permission on the 'Vultures' album.
Ozzy took to social media to condemn Kanye's actions, citing refusal of permission due to Kanye's alleged antisemitism and expressing his disassociation from the rapper.
