Renowned musician Joe Jonas was recently spotted in London, having entrusted his daughters to their mother, Sophie Turner, earlier this month.
As revealed by court documents obtained from TMZ, the talented British actress is entitled to spend quality time with the children during both the Christmas and New Year holidays in the UK. This move was executed on December 17, when the Jonas Brothers' member brought the kids overseas, as reported by aceshowbiz.com.
The youngsters are set to remain with the 'Game of Thrones' alum until January 7, at which point they will return to their home base in New York City.
In a departure from the conventional practice of flying back to the U.S. immediately, Joe Jonas opted to stay in England after handing over the parenting responsibilities to Sophie. Notably, he was recently sighted at the popular London venue, Chiltern Firehouse.
The question of whether Joe and Turner will reunite for the holidays remains uncertain, raising speculation about whether the 34-year-old father of two will have the opportunity to spend Christmas with his children. Their temporary child custody agreement dictates a shared approach to holiday duties, with Joe having celebrated Halloween and Thanksgiving with his two daughters.
This development comes on the heels of Joe filing for divorce from Sophie in September, culminating a four-year marriage. The actress responded with a lawsuit alleging "wrongful detention," contending that Joe prevented their daughters from returning to England. In October, the estranged couple reached a temporary custody agreement, valid until January 7.
In a joint statement issued in October, they expressed, "After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the US and the UK. We look forward to being great co-parents."
Post the custody resolution, an insider informed Us Weekly, "They're on the path to healing and to being healthy co-parents. They're both on the same page. They spoke recently, and it was amicable, and that triggered a quicker resolution."
