Janhvi Kapoor, who is just waiting for the release of the upcoming romantic sports drama 'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi', recently spoke at length about the significance of the number six on her promotional outfits, which stands as a peculiar connection to cricketer Mahendra Singh Dhoni.
Janhvi is essaying the character of Mahima opposite Rajkummar Rao in the film, and she has been seen wearing the number six on her outfits throughout the promotional activities.
On May 11, she wore a Barbie pink sleeveless crop top with the number six embossed on it, with a black and white striped skirt.
Earlier on May 3, Janhvi sported a blue half-sleeve crop top with ‘Mahi 6’ emblazoned on the front and a poignant message, ‘Cricket is life aur life is cricket’, adorning the back.
Addressing queries regarding the significance of the number 6 on her promotional attire during an ‘Ask Me Anything’ session with fans on Instagram, Janhvi clarified the association.
She articulated, “Mahima’s jersey number is 6, and despite being a fervent admirer of MS Dhoni, like many of us, we acknowledged that his jersey number is 7.”
“Upon deliberation with Sharan Sharma and the team, we opted to reserve ‘7’ solely for Dhoni sir out of reverence, selecting another number. Six happens to be my personal lucky number, and hopefully, it will bring me luck,” she elaborated.
Janhvi underscored, “Therefore, Mahima’s jersey number is 6, while Dhoni sir’s jersey number is and should always remain 7. No one should usurp or replicate the number 7.”
The actress, last seen in ‘Bawaal’, described ‘Mr.& Mrs. ‘Mr. & Mrs. Mahi’ is a love story and a family drama.
“It has comedy, romance, cricket, and emotions,” Janhvi ended.
Wrapping up, Janhvi summed up, "The film encapsulates the essence of an imperfectly perfect partnership between a couple united by their passion for cricket."
Directed by Sharan Sharma, ‘Mr. & Mrs. Mahi’ marks the second collaboration between Rajkummar and Janhvi, who previously worked together in the 2021 film ‘Roohi’.
'Mr. & Mrs. Mahi' is set to hit theaters on May 31st.
