According to a lawsuit filed in May 2023, the mold issues made the home "virtually unlivable" and "dangerous from a health perspective." The lawsuit states that the premises suffered "substantial and significant damage," prompting the couple to seek a rescission of the purchase and sale. Additionally, they are requesting consequential damages for repair costs, loss of use, and other damages caused by the alleged conduct.

While the exact costs are yet to be determined, the complaint mentions that waterproofing issues alone are estimated to exceed $1.5 million, with general damages estimated at around $2.5 million. The legal battle continues over the property's condition, and the couple has moved out amid the ongoing dispute.
