Popular YouTuber and the victorious contestant of Bigg Boss OTT 2, Elvish Yadav, on Saturday found himself briefly detained by the police in Rajasthan while en route to Kota, news agency IANS reported quoting its sources. Yadav was subsequently released.
Citing the Rajasthan Police, the IANS source said that the detention occurred during a routine checkpoint operation, conducted as part of the heightened security measures put in place for the upcoming November 25 Assembly elections in the state.
Yadav had recently faced legal troubles when he, along with five others, was accused of supplying snake venom for recreational purposes at gatherings in Delhi-NCR. An animal welfare activist had filed a complaint in connection to this matter. In response, Noida Police took action by apprehending the party organizers at a specific location.
The IANS source, citing a police officer, detailed that Yadav and his companions were stopped at one of these checkpoints. However, after a thorough interrogation and confirmation from the Noida Police that Yadav was not a 'wanted' individual, and that the case against him remained under investigation, he was allowed to continue his journey.
Noida Police had made five arrests on Friday in connection to the aforementioned case. Yadav, for his part, vehemently denied the allegations, labeling them as "utterly unfounded and fabricated."
