Grimes, a Canadian singer who co-parents a son with Elon Musk announced that they both have broken up after welcoming their second child, a baby girl. Grimes took to her social media to update her about her breakup with Elon Musk, days after she shared news about her second child with him at the Vanity fair.
As part of Vanity Fair's April 2022 cover story, Canadian singer Grimes announced that she and American Billionaire Elon Musk welcomed their second child, a baby girl in December 2021 via surrogacy. The baby girl is named Exa Dark Sidereal and is also nicknamed Y. The couple is also parents to a baby boy who they both welcomed in May 2022 and named him X AE A-Xii. The news did surprise many as it was believed that the couple had already parted ways. The new baby girl is Elon's seventh child.
On March 10, the 33-year-old singer, whose real name is Claire Boucher, said: “Me and E have broken up [again] since the writing of this article (the Vanity Fair cover), haha, but he’s my best friend and the love of my life, and my life and art are forever dedicated to The Mission now, I think Devin wrote that part of the story [really] well. Sique – peace out.”
“There’s no real word for it. I would probably refer to him as my boyfriend, but we’re very fluid. We live in separate houses. We’re best friends. We see each other all the time. … We just have our own thing going on, and I don’t expect other people to understand it,” she added.

After the announcement of their breakup, fans were seen pointing out an old tweet of Musk which made relevance for the current situation. " You are my favorite hello and the hardest goodbye".
They both have been rumored to be dating since Musk's breakup with Hollywood actress Amber Heard in February 2018.
The former couple was spotted together traveling for a trip to Italy for Musk's 50th birthday.
The couple was last seen together at the Met Gala. Grimes walked the red carpet alone at the event but was later joined by Musk inside.

The first time they broke up was in September 2021. Elon Musk back then said, "We are semi-separate but still love each other, see each other frequently, and are on great terms. It’s mostly that my work at SpaceX and Tesla requires me to be primarily in Texas or traveling overseas and her work is primarily in L.A. She’s staying with me now and Baby X(their son) is in the adjacent room.”
Elon Musk is father to seven children now. He has twins and triplets with ex-wife Justine Wilson.
Elon Musk was also married to actress Talulah Riley 'twice'. They married in 2010 but divorced in 2012. They came back again a year later, remarried in 2013 but divorced again in 2016.
Recently, Musk was in news with rumors of dating Australian actress Natasha Bassett.
