Devoleena Bhattacharjee to Sing Hymns and Perform Puja on Janmashtami

"I also like the way the city celebrates and the festive atmosphere. The rituals like swinging the cradle with Krishna's idol bring me more closer to him. I look forward to celebrate his birth with devotion and joy not only with my family but also with my team on set," she added.

Devoleena Bhattacharjee, the actress, spoke about her plans for celebrating Janmashtami and said that this time, she would sing hymns and do the puja all by herself. She says, "This Janmashtami, since I'll be shooting, I plan to keep my celebrations very simple yet meaningful. I'll sing hymns, offer Krishna's favourite makkhan and mishri, and do the puja myself with lots of love.".

Sharing her thoughts on what the festival means to her, Devoleena said, "Janmashtami means a lot to me because since my childhood I felt connected to Lord Krishna. He is not just a deity for me, more of a lifelong friend who guides and protects me all the time. The festival holds a special time where one celebrates his birth and his presence.".

She further added that she felt a deep connectivity between her and Krishna due to her role as Gopi bahu in the Saath Nibhana Saathiya serial.

"Gopi was a great devotee of Krishna, and that personality came even closer to him. Now, while shooting for Chhathi Maiyya Ki Bitiya, I feel attached to Shaishav as much as I am to Kanha because of his innocence. I have so many memories of my childhood when I used to play with an idol of Krishna and consider him as my friend, and that attachment grew with time."

Finally, reflecting on Krishna's teaching, she said, "One of Krishna's teachings that really helps to guide me is that he's always there for you. Since I was little, I've trusted that Krishna will be there to help me in times of need or uncertainty.".

"This belief gives me strength and serenity, knowing that I am never alone. His teachings remind me to stay in silence, to believe, and have trust that everything will fall into place through his guidance."
