DC fans express outrage over casting of Gal Gadot in James Gunn's 'Wonder Woman 3'

While Gadot received a lot of praise for her role as Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s DCEU, fans believe that this would be a massive disservice to other actors such as Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck who have left the franchise after delivering great performances.

After Gal Gadot had revealed that she will be starring in ‘Wonder Woman 3’ which will be helmed by new DCU director James Gunn, who has now rebooted the whole franchise, fans have expressed great outrage over Gunn’s decision, as they believe that a new face should be featured in a completely new revamped version.

Back in August 2, the actress had said amid the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes, “I love portraying Wonder Woman. It's so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we're gonna develop a 'Wonder Woman 3' together".

But this did not sit too well at all with DC fans, who went on to display great anger that Gadot would be reprising her role, bashing Gunn for his decision to do so.

Netizens went on to flood the X account of James Gunn as well as Instagram voicing their anger. One person wrote “Why are we getting 'Wonder Woman 3' with Gal Gadot, just why?”

Another wrote “I think Gal Gadot is a great actress, nothing against her but she should not be in the DCU if your idea was to change it entirely. If Henry and Ben left, then she should too.”

A DC fan went on to write “Why are we getting the same face when this is supposed to be ‘reboot’?”

The actress was also criticised for her support to Israel over the Palestine conflict, which had caused many people to earlier criticise the decision to cast her as Wonder Woman back when Snyder was in charge.

A netizen wrote “They really need to move on and find a new WW. She's not a very convincing actor to begin with, and her support of the far-right Israeli government/denial of the human rights of Palestinians, has made her a polarising distraction.”

Another wrote “I don’t like political controversies in superhero movies, and her political stance and surrounding controversies is not really helping.”
