Bob Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson to Direct 'Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse'

Titled "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse", this much-awaited movie will round off the trilogy that kicked off with 2018's critically acclaimed title "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", an Oscar winner for best animated film, and continued with 2023's "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse".

Hollywood studio Sony Pictures has engaged Bob Persichetti and Justin K Thompson to handle the third installment in the "Spider-Verse" animated franchise.

Titled "Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse", this much-awaited movie will round off the trilogy that kicked off with 2018's critically acclaimed title "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", an Oscar winner for best animated film, and continued with 2023's "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse".

As entertainment news website Variety points out, Persichetti and Justin K. Thompson have been part of the creative team of the film since the first movie.
Persichetti was part of the directorial trio in the first film and also served as an executive producer in the second part, while Thompson worked as the production designer for the first movie and became part of the directorial trio with Joaquim Dos Santos and Kemp Powers in the second.

"We have had the huge privilege of being part of Miles' journey from the very beginning, and to direct the conclusion to his story is beyond exciting," said the duo in a statement.

The creativity and care poured into every minute of this project has been truly inspiring. We have crafted what we feel is a very satisfying ending, and we can't wait for fans to experience it. We're bringing everything we've got," they added.

"Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse" exposed viewers to Miles Morales, a young man who turned out to be Spider-Man and stumbled upon the multiverse. It happened to be the film that is revolutionary for its style in animation and storytelling as well as deep emotionalism.

The voice cast in this movie includes Jake Johnson, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Brian Tyree Henry, John Mulaney, Nicolas Cage and Liev Schreiber among others.

The sequel, "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse," continued the story as Miles joins forces with Gwen Stacy and other Spider-People from across dimensions to take on a new threat.

Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed the trilogy that was critically and commercially successful, are set to return to co-write the screenplay. They will also produce with Amy Pascal, Avi Arad and Jinko Gotoh.

Executive producing the film are Aditya Sood and Christina Steinberg while Jessica Berri will act as co-producer.
