In an interview that made waves among fans, Amaal shared with us his family background, giving us a fascinating glimpse of his Bollywood musician heritage.

While in conversation with fellow contestants Zeishan Quadri and Baseer Ali on Friday, Amaal unveiled some personal facts about family life.

To set the record straight, Amaal Mallik is the son of Daboo Malik and the nephew of celebrated Bollywood music composer Anu Malik.

Amaal disclosed that at one point, Anu Malik had made a larger niche for himself in the industry than Daboo Malik. He detailed how this discrepancy affected the relations within the family, making a psychological difference on the side of Daboo Malik.

Recalling family get-togethers and industry functions, Amaal revealed that Anu Malik and his kin, including his kids, used to keep at an arm's length Daboo Malik's family and even used to ignore their presence at times.

Characterizing Anu Malik, Amaal stated, "He has always been very ambitious and a go-getter," and with regard, he compared him to a "hungry lion" who was hell-bent on succeeding.

Though Amaal has said that his dad and Anu Malik are in touch, he pointed out their children of the next generation are not in contact and still remain distant.

This observation regarding the Mallik family scenario stunned Bigg Boss participant and actor Gaurav Khanna both pleasantly and negatively.
