Renowned Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has recently asserted that the physical abuse inflicted upon her by her former spouse Brad Pitt commenced long before the infamous 2016 plane incident that precipitated her decision to initiate divorce proceedings. These claims have surfaced from legal documents acquired by Page Six.

In an endeavor to unveil communications substantiating Pitt's purported refusal to permit Jolie to divest her stake in their Chateau Miraval French winery unless she agreed to a burdensome and far-reaching non-disclosure agreement (NDA), Jolie's legal team brought forward these assertions.

The documents state, "While Pitt's history of physically abusing Jolie predates the family's September 2016 flight from France to Los Angeles, this particular journey marked the first instance wherein he directed his physical aggression towards the children as well. Subsequently, Jolie promptly ended the relationship."

According to the filings, the NDA Pitt purportedly demanded Jolie to sign aimed to shield his "personal misconduct, irrespective of its connection to Miraval," as a stratagem to forestall her from divulging details about his alleged abusive behavior.

Furthermore, Jolie's attorneys contended that Pitt sought to impose silence upon her after discovering in 2021 that she had submitted sealed documents, encompassing "emails, synopses of anticipated family testimonies, and other evidence," to facilitate the resolution of their custody dispute.

At that juncture, Pitt had initially agreed to purchase Jolie's shares in the French winery but subsequently reneged due to apprehensions that her sealed documents "might potentially be disclosed to the public," the documents maintain.

Paul Murphy, Jolie's attorney, remarked, "Pitt declined to acquire Jolie's stake when she refused to be silenced by his NDA," adding, "By eschewing the purchase of her shares but subsequently litigating against her, Pitt has brought into sharp focus why that NDA held such significance for him and what he aspired to conceal: his mistreatment of Jolie and their family," alluding to Pitt's 2022 legal action against Jolie for vendition of her winery shares to a third party.

The documents further assert that Jolie opted against pressing charges against her "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" co-star as she believed it was more prudent for Pitt to acknowledge accountability and aid the family in recuperating from the trauma he had inflicted.

However, a source acquainted with Pitt's stance contended that Jolie "persistently attempts to divert attention from legal setbacks by proffering irrelevant or inaccurate information" in subsequent court submissions.

"There's a recurring pattern wherein each time she faces a setback, she reverts to this...there's nothing novel here," the source emphasized.

In addition to their vineyard dispute, Jolie and Pitt are embroiled in a custody battle concerning their offspring, Maddox (22), Pax (20), Zahara (19), Shiloh (17), and twins Vivienne and Knox (15).
