The whole nation is going gaga over the wedding pictures of newlywed husband and wife, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor. The couple decided to maintain their privacy by tying knots at the residence of Ranbir Kapoor named Vastu. But now interestingly, Rahul Bhatt, brother of Alia Bhatt is spilling beans over some interesting things that happened during the marriage ceremony.
"He (the pandit) explained the significance of each phera. Ek hota hain dharm ke liye, ek hota hain santaan ke liye, so it was really fascinating. We have not been exposed to this. I come from a household of multiple ethnicities. So, that was fascinating. There were not 7 pheras but 4 pheras for the record," India Today quoted Rahul Bhatt as saying.
The incident happened during the 7th phera, when the pandit was explaining the significance of the 7th phera. Explaining about the phera, he said that according to this ritual, now Alia has to promise that she will take every decision with the Ranbir's agreement.

But Mahesh Bhatt stopped Pandit in between and said I refused to take this promise from my wife and I want my daughter also doesn't accept this promise. Adding to that he said my daughter is an independent strong woman and she doesn't need approval from anyone.
Agreeing with what her father said, Alia too refused to take the promise and said if Ranbir truly loves her then instead of stopping her, he will stand strong with every decision of her.
Speaking to ETimes exclusively after the happy ceremony, Alia's father Mahesh Bhatt controlled his emotions and said, “Who says the age of fairy tales coming true is over?” Needless to say, the bride's father sounded happy and content that his daughter has settled down.
