The New York Times unveiled a list of the 25 greatest actors of the 21st century (so far) based on some of the best performances of cinema in the last 20 years. American actor Denzel Washington bagged the first spot for his brilliant craftsmanship and screen presence especially in movies such as The Equalizer, Training Day and Fences. Legendary American veteran actresses Nicole Kidman, Viola Davis and Julianne Moore were featured in the list as well for their long iconic careers but Sairose Ronan who is merely a few films old was also included for her blazing performances in Brooklyn, Ladybird and Little Women.

However, the actress who was ranked the highest at second spot is not American but Italian, Isabelle Huppert for her mesmerizing roles in over 50 movies this century alone. 

Legendary actor Keanu Reeves was given the fourth spot for his unique movie choices that hardly ever fail to impress. The Korean actor Song Kang Hoo who recently came to attention for his role in Oscar winner movie, Parasite also earned a place high in the list. Another Oscar winner, 'Joker' fame, Joaquin Phoenix bagged a spot for his surprising ability to play any character to perfection.
