NCERT books for students from Kindergarten to Class 12, besides for UPSC aspirants will be sold by authorized sellers on the Amazon India website too, the e-commerce firm said on Monday.
Amazon India said it has tied up with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) for smooth sale of the books at maximum retail price (MRP) across all serviceable pin codes in the country.
According to Amazon India, the company has partnered "with the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) to expand the availability of textbooks for students from Kindergarten to Class 12, as well as UPSC aspirants, on Amazon.in".
Apart from servicing the individual consumers, Amazon.in will also collaborate with NCERT on "order volumes for government agencies and schools".
"To enable this, NCERT has tied up with distribution vendors who would collaborate with sellers on the Amazon.in platform for delivering these books as quickly and as smooth a manner as possible," the statement added.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said the NCERT tie-up with Amazon India is a step to ensure that students and educators get access to authentic, affordable resources that can aid them in their educational journey besides enhancing their overall ease of living.
"We are making NCERT textbooks available through Amazon.in. This will ensure that millions of students in India do not have to face hurdles for pursuing education, and it is more convenient," said Pradhan.
