Maharashtra government has announced that the physical classes for the students of Class 8-12 will restart from July 15 in those locations of the state where no Covid-19 case has been reported over the last month.
Making the announcement in a video message, Varsha Gaikwad, the Minister of School Education Department, said that the state government is working to ensure safe resumption of schools in corona-free villages. She further said that having a blended approach to education has become a must in order to reach out to as many children as possible across the state.
She also added that before to the beginning of offline classes, all instructors and school employees must be vaccinated.
Gaikwad also provided an update on the village-level COVID-19 preventative strategies and procedures according to which an eight-member committee would be constituted, led by the village Sarpanch, to oversee the execution of the Covid-19 safety recommendations.

The operations will be overseen by the Chief Executive Officer of the local Zilla Parishad, who will examine the situation on a regular basis. Collectors, school principals, and health officials will all be on the committee. The schools will also be required to adhere to all COVID standard operating procedures (SOP) and conduct regular temperature checks on children on campus.
Schools are also ordered to keep a watch on how strict distance rules are being followed on campus. A classroom can hold a maximum of fifteen to twenty students at a certain given time.
