On January 5, Fintech giant PhonePe announced the appointment of former Yes Bank executive Ritesh Pai as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its International Payments division.
Sameer Nigam, CEO and Founder of PhonePe, expressed delight at Ritesh's appointment, highlighting his early support and significant contribution to PhonePe's initial success with UPI. Nigam stated, "Ritesh has been an early believer and staunch supporter of the company and was very instrumental in our early UPI success story."
In his previous role, Pai served as the President of Products and Solutions at TerraPay, overseeing the launch and global implementation of various payment products and solutions.
PhonePe also executed a series of internal restructuring measures, appointing CEOs for its lending, insurance, and broking segments, signaling a focused expansion within the realm of financial services.
