Tata Communications Ltd's Board of Directors has agreed to appoint N Ganapathy Subramaniam as Chairman of the Board of Directors with effect from March 14, 2025.
Subramaniam, appointed as a Non-Executive Director on the Board of Tata Communications on December 2, 2021, has more than four decades of experience in the Indian IT sector. He was earlier the Chief Operating Officer & Executive Director at Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) until he resigned in May 2024.

Tata Communications underscored Subramaniam's role as a strategist in numerous pathbreaking initiatives in banking, telecom, and public services around the world. The firm characterized him as a technologist, operations specialist, product developer, business transformer, and change management guru.
"As a thought leader, he has addressed international conferences and plays an active role in influencing industry and government policies," the company said.

Tata Communications reported a consolidated net profit of ₹236 crore for the quarter ending December 2024, marking a 424% year-on-year growth compared to ₹45 crore in Q3 FY24.
Other financial highlights for Q3 FY25:
- Revenue from operations: ₹5,798 crore (up 3.8% YoY) from ₹5,587.78 crore in Q3 FY24.
- Sequential net profit growth: 4% increase from ₹227 crore in Q2 FY25.
- Sequential revenue growth: 1.2% increase from Q2 to Q3 FY25.
