US-based consumer technology firm Honeywell on Friday announced the appointment of Anant Maheshwari, former head of Microsoft India, as the President and CEO of Honeywell's High Growth Region portfolio. This change will take effect from September 4.
Maheshwari is set to take over the reins from Ben Driggs, who will assume a different leadership role within the company. He will also hold the title of Corporate Officer, reporting directly to Honeywell's CEO, Vimal Kapur, and will be based in Dubai.
With a notable track record, Maheshwari has previously held progressive leadership positions at Honeywell between 2004 and 2016. During this period, he spearheaded the launch of new business ventures and managed mature business portfolios.
Subsequently, Maheshwari transitioned to Microsoft, where he served as the President and CEO of Microsoft India. His leadership during this time played a pivotal role in propelling Microsoft India into a position of remarkable growth within the company.
"Maheshwari’s accomplishments spanning over the past two decades underscore his ability to drive significant outcomes across a spectrum of industries. His expertise uniquely positions him to further strengthen our localized presence, while also expanding Honeywell’s footprint in critical areas such as controls and automation, software and digitalization, and sustainability," Honeywell CEO Vimal Kapur said.
In his new capacity, Maheshwari will spearhead the expansion of Honeywell's business interests across various global regions, encompassing China, India, Southeast Asia, Central and Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Central Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
During his tenure at Microsoft India, he orchestrated a transformative journey that led to the region's emergence as the company's fastest-growing geography. His strategic vision also established benchmarks for innovative business models within the organization.
Maheshwari is an alumnus of the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, where he earned his MBA in 1998, graduating as a distinguished industry scholar.
