Indian startups raised a cumulative amount of USD 1.65 billion (nearly Rs 14,418 crore) of funding in February 2025, with the median valuation coming in at USD 83.2 million, according to the data provided by Traxcn.
This makes the cumulative funding raised during FY25 (April-February) stand at USD 25.4 billion spread across 2,200 funding rounds, based on the data.
The funding in February is a 19.5% increase over USD 1.38 billion raised in January 2025. On a year-on-year basis, the funding was less than the amount raised in February 2024 at USD 2.06 billion.
Bengaluru, India's startup capital, saw start-ups receive USD 353 million in funding, with a median round size of USD 2 million. Mumbai-based start-ups raised USD 102 million, but their median round size was USD 5 million.
Among the top fundraisers, fintech firm Oxyzo topped the list, raising USD 1 billion in conventional debt funding. This was followed by B2B online marketplace udaan, which raised a USD 75 million Series G equity funding round, led by M&G Plc. Other significant fundraisers in February were SpotDraft, Cashfree Payments, Zeta, and Geniemode.
According to Traxcn, the median size of the funding round for the month was USD 1.92 million.
February 2025 also saw big-ticket business acquisitions. Head Digital Works bought Deltatech Gaming, which owns Adda52, for Rs 491 crore. Bengaluru-based SaaS company Perfios acquired fraud detection platform Clari5, and Motilal Oswal Alternate Investment Advisors (MO Alts) purchased a majority stake in Megafine Pharma for Rs 460 crore.
Traxcn's numbers also showed 16 IPOs being listed last month with a median market cap of USD 26.5 million. Major listings were from Hexaware, AJAX, Ken India, Dr. Agarwal's Eye Hospital, and Royal Arc.
High-profile investors in February were Ritesh Agarwal, Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, and Peyush Bansal. Venture capital firms leading startup fundraises were Blume Ventures, Eximius Ventures, Unicorn India Ventures, Peak XV, Accel, and Nexus Venture Partners.
Indian startups collectively raised USD 30.4 billion in funding throughout the year 2024, down 6.5% from the USD 32.5 billion raised in 2023.
