Toyota Fortuner facelift 2021: Teaser released; Specs, launch date, design and price

The major changes in the car’s design start with a new front grille which is larger and has a curvy pattern. The new headlamps have been trimmed to give out a more sleek design. It has sharper character lines, revamped front bumper with larger curtains, slightly smaller fog lamps and silver skid plate among others. At the back, as in the front, taillights have been transformed into full LED. 

Japanese car manufacturing giant Toyota has been spotted testing its updated version of the Fortuner called the Fortuner facelift multiple times on the roads ahead of its launch. Although the car was wrapped in sheets to give it a disguise so that no one could figure the actual design of the car, the automotive giant since has released a teaser of the car’s design. 

Toyota will unveil the anticipated Fortuner facelift on January 6. The price range is expected to go around Rs 25-30 lakh.

The new Fortuner does not seem to have any major changes from its predecessor, however, it definitely sports a more refined and sleek look.

There's also a new sportier-looking version joining the line-up- the Toyota Fortuner Legender. The Legender looks even more aggressive with a taller bumper and a sharper front grille.

Meanwhile, the inside of the car has not been revamped as such. Just some notable changes are the new 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with android auto and Apple car play and nine JBL speakers,  LED ambient lighting, a moderately updated instrument cluster, multi-functional steering wheel, electrically adjustable front seats, wireless phone charger, seven-airbags, 360-degree camera view, Toyota's safety sense, collision prevention system, lane departure warning and radar-guided dynamic cruise control among others.

Furthermore, the Toyota Fortuner facelift continues to source its power from the BS6 compliant engine variables which range from the entry-level, 2.7 litres four-cylinder petrol motor engine which pumps out 164 bhp and 245Nm of torque. Then the second one, a 2.8 four-cylinder diesel which puts out 201 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a six-speed manual gearbox and a six-speed sequential automatic torque convertor unit. The diesel engine will also get the four-wheel-drive variant with two-wheel, four-wheel high and four-wheel low range.
