Tata Tigor EV launched at Rs 11.99 lakhs: Here're features, specifications of India's cheapest EV

This becomes the second EV launched by Tata following the successful launch of Nexon EV, which falls under the compact-SUV segment. Tigor is being offered in three trims; XE, XM, and XZ+ — with a dual-tone color option only available on the highest trim.

Indian carmaker giant Tata on Tuesday launched its much-awaited Electric Vehicle (EV) Tigor at a price point of Rs 11.99 lakhs (ex-showroom price).

This becomes the second EV launched by Tata following the successful launch of Nexon EV, which falls under the compact-SUV segment. Tigor is being offered in three trims; XE, XM, and XZ+ — with a dual-tone color option only available on the highest trim.

Tigor, however, comes at a lower price point and is being considered as the cheapest EV in the country as of yet. Its basic model, XE is being offered at Rs 11.99 lakh meanwhile, the XM trim will cost Rs 12.49 lakh and the XZ+ trim will be offered at Rs 12.99 lakh.

Under the hood, Tigor gets a 26kWh liquid-cooled battery that produces 55kHw of power and 170 Nm of torque. As for the range, it is expected to run for 306km in one full charge. Other features of the battery include an IP67 rating that will make the battery weatherproof, fast charging from 0 to 80 percent in mere 60 minutes. . It also includes an 8 year and 160,000 kilometers battery and motor warranty.

The dual-tone version of the car is Rs 15,000 costlier than the top trip, which will amount to Rs 13.14 lakh in total. It comes in two colour options — Signature Teal Blue and Daytona Grey.

For the interior, it gets some upgrades over the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) Tigor. It now comes with a 7-inch touch screen display with Android Auto and Apple Carplay, 4 speaker Harman speaker sound system, automatic climate control, and a digital instrument cluster.

No safety measures have been compromised either as it comes with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), a rear parking camera with parking sensors, and seat belt reminders for the front passengers.
