Aesthetics and performance are improved by the bike now having a 90 mm wider rear tyre, which adds to the road stability. The new digital instrument console features essential information including real-time fuel economy, distance-to-empty, service reminders, gear position, and an Eco indicator. It also has a USB Type-C charging port for smartphones and an idle start/stop system to enhance fuel efficiency.

The engine of the Shine 125 is a 123.94 cc single-cylinder, fuel-injected, air-cooled engine that complies with OBD-2B standards. The power outputs are the same, producing 10.6 bhp at 7,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 11 Nm at 6,000 rpm, and has a 5-speed transmission. The motorcycle comes with telescopic front forks and dual shock absorbers in the rear. Braking duties are handled by drum brakes at both ends for the base model and the top of the range with a front disc brake for better stopping.
