Excise Policy scam: ED team reaches Tihar Jail to quiz Satyendar Jain
The central agency is currently conducting raids at more than 40 locations across India. According to the sources, raids that started early on Friday morning, are underway in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, Delhi-NCR and Nellore. ED's case is based on the FIR of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Teacher recruitment scam: Partha, Arpita's judicial custody extended by 14 days
The WBSSC Scam matter will be heard next on September 28. Although the hearing on Wednesday was concluded by 5.30 pm, the judge of the special court reserved the judgement. Finally, at around 8 pm, he gave the order directing additional 14 days of judicial custody for the accused.
WBSSC scam: ED traces another Rs 5.32 crore of Arpita Mukherjee
Both, Arpita Mukherjee and Partha Chatterjee who are currently in judicial custody over their alleged involvement in the West Bengal School Service Commission (BSSC) recruitment scam, appeared for hearing in virtual mode at a special ED court on Wednesday afternoon, where the central agency's counsel informed the court about the new revelations.
WBSSC Scam: Company with Arpita as director used to channelise funds, claims ED
ED counsel Phiroze Edulji said the name of the company is Symbiosis Merchants Private Limited. While Arpita Mukherjee is one of the two directors in the company, the other director is her sister's husband, Kalyan Dhar. Edulji informed the court that initially the company's share price was Rs 10 apiece, which skyrocketed to Rs 1,000 per share within a very short span of time. According to Edulji, these are clear indications that the share price of the company was inflated artificially by channelising the proceeds of the WBSSC scam which amounted to around RS 2.70 crore.
Bengal coal smuggling case: ED summons Abhishek Banerjee on Sep 2
Abhishek Banerjee, the nephew of the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, has been asked to be present at the ED's office at the Central Government Office (CGO) at Kolkata's Salt Lake area. The sources said that a special team of ED officers from the agency's headquarters in New Delhi will be arriving to Kolkata for Abhishek Banerjee's interrogation.

Court grants interim bail to Satyendar Jain's wife in PMLA case
The Enforcement Directorate has said it has enough evidence to prove that Jain and his family were involved in money laundering and they acquired assets disproportionate to their known sources of income to the tune of Rs 1,62,50,294. Jain who had moved for bail application, withdrew it. He had cited medical grounds in his bail plea.
ED to send 50 bank accounts linked to Partha Chatterjee for forensic audit
The address of the said company, Ananta Texfab Private Limited, is Club Town Heights, Block 5, Flat 8A, 14 B.T. Road, Kolkata 700056. Incidentally, this is also the address of Arpita Mukherjee's flat from where the ED sleuths had recovered huge stash of cash and gold on July 28. As per the ED, when the corporate entity was floated on March 23, 2012, its three directors were Partha Chatterjee's deceased wife.
Sonia, Rahul did not cooperate in ED probe prior to parliament session: Pralhad Joshi
Kharge stated earlier that how can they participate in the parliamentary debates if the ED takes up investigation during the parliament session. Pralhad Joshi questioned whether Congress leaders extended their support when Sonia and Rahul Gandhi were called by the ED for investigation when there was no session? Joshi said that the intention of the Congress is there should not be any probe at all.
