According to TechCrunch, Tinder and a French dating app, Meetic will send in-app messages to users with tips and common behaviour to look out for. Suggestions include verifying potential matches' profile pictures, video chatting with them before meeting in person, and learning how to spot scammer red flags.

Dating app Tinder has announced that its users in the US can now run background checks in-app to screen their matches for possible violent or harmful past behaviour. The company said that Garbo's new online background check platform will be made available to the general public in the US and will also be launched to Tinder members via Tinder's Safety Center.

Popular dating app Tinder is expanding its portfolio of features giving members new ways to create human connection by bringing back an old classic -- the blind date. Now available in Explore, Fast Chat: Blind Date is a new social experience that pairs members before allowing them to view each other's profile, making conversation, rather than photos, the first impression.

The report, from Mozilla and Consumers International, detailed just how much Tinder+ pricing can vary based on users' age, reports Engadget. The report relied on "mystery shoppers" in six countries -- the US, Netherlands, New Zealand, Korea, India and Brazil -- who signed up for Tinder+ and reported back how much the app charged for the subscription.

Tinder members everywhere will be able to access Block Contacts within their profile settings. From there, they can input which of their contacts they'd rather not see, or not be seen by, on Tinder. "We may not be able to save you from awkward run-ins at the coffee shop, but we are giving you more control over your experience on Tinder," Bernadette Morgan, Group Product Manager, Trust & Safety at Tinder, said in a statement.
