Sweden deploys Patriot air defence system in first live operation
It is the first time since it was delivered in 2021 that the system is deployed for a live operation in Sweden, Xinhua news agency quoted the Aftonbladet newspaper as saying in a report on Monday. Therese Fagerstedt, head of press at the Swedish Armed Forces, told the newspaper that the operation in Gothenburg was not a training exercise.
Sweden to send Archer artillery system to Ukraine
The package is worth around 4.3 billion Swedish kronor ($415 million) and also includes around 50 CV-90 armoured vehicles with ammunition, NLAW anti-tank missiles, disposable anti-tank weapons, and mine clearing equipment, the government said at a press conference here on Thursday. Ukraine has repeatedly requested that Sweden provides them with Archer, a vehicle-mounted howitzer with a range of up to 50 km, Xinhua news agency reported.

Finland, Sweden pledge to join NATO together
The two Prime Ministers on Friday highlighted the importance of cooperation between Finland and Sweden, particularly in the future NATO membership, Xinhua news agency reported. "This relationship plays a particularly important role in the current crises. Concrete areas where cooperation should be strengthened include developing security of supply and countering hybrid threats," the Finnish government said in a statement.

The new government was announced by Kristersson after delivering his Statement of Government Policy in parliament. It includes Foreign Affairs Minister Tobias Billstrom, Finance Minister Elisabeth Svantesson, Defence Minister Pal Jonson, Justice Minister Gunnar Strommer, EU Affairs Minister Jessika Roswall, and Energy, Business and Industry Minister Ebba Busch.
Sweden rejects Russian request to share Nord Stream leaks probe findings

The blue bloc comprises the Moderate Party, the Christian Democrats, the Liberal Party and the Sweden Democrats, reports Xinhua news agency. The red bloc of the Social Democratic Party, the Left Party, the Green Party, and the Centre Party gained 48.8 per cent of the votes cast in Sunday's polling.
