SEBI fines Franklin Templeton AMC, bars launch of new debt scheme for 2 years

In its order on Monday, the capital market regulator said that Franklin Templeton Mutual Fund has been found to have violated the provisions of the Mutual Funds Regulations and also certain SEBI circulars. "As a result of the irregularities in the running of the debt schemes inspected, loss has been caused to the investors.
SEBI raise overseas investment limit for MFs to $1 bn

The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on Thursday raised the investment limit to $1 billion per mutual fund. In a circular, the capital market regulator said that the decision has been taken post representations from the mutual fund industry. The SEBI also decided that "mutual funds can make investments in overseas Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) subject to a maximum of $300 million per mutual fund.
SEBI relaxes compliance timelines for debenture trustees

The timeline for disclosures on websites including monitoring of asset cover certificate and quarterly compliance report of the listed entity, monitoring of utilisation certificate, the status of information regarding breach of covenants or terms of the issue, if any action taken by debenture trustee, has been extended till July 15.
SEBI penalises 2 brokerages in NSE Co-Location case

The regulator has imposed a total fine of Rs 6 lakh on PRB Securities and Rs 12 lakh on CPR Capital Services. The SEBI said that it had received multiple complaints pertaining to allegations of malpractices with respect to the co-location facility being provided by the National Stock Exchange of India Ltd (NSE).
SEBI chief admits Independent Directors' issue not yet resolved
