Rishabh Pant has been recovering from the horrific car accident that occurred on December 30, 2022. His rehabilitation has been closely monitored by the BCCI, who last week reported that the cricketer had made significant progress.

"Pant is believed to be largely pain-free, and while skill work is still "quite some time away", he is currently increasing his lower-body and upper-body mobility exercises under the guidance of physio S Rajnikanth, who has previously worked with several India age-group teams and has also been part of the Delhi Capitals support staff.

Pant, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, captained his post on Instagram with, "Not bad yaar Rishabh. Simple things can be difficult sometimes." In the short video clip, the first part shows the time when Pant was struggling to climb up stairs and needed support of railings while the second part showed a confident version of him fearlessly climbing up the stairs.

In the short video posted on his social media accounts, Pant could be seen throwing his crutches away and walking without support on his feet at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, where he's currently undergoing rehabilitation. "Happy NO MORE CRUTCHES Day!" wrote Pant in the caption.

Pooran was in the same shoes as Pant over eight years ago when he too was involved in a car accident on his way back from a training session. He had to undergo two surgeries and was on the shelf for close to six months before he could walk again. The Windies cricketer, who is currently in India representing the Lucknow Super Giants in the Indian Premier League (IPL), said that he has been in constant touch with Pant.

The 25-year old continues to recover from the tragic car accident he incurred last December following which he had suffered multiple injuries. He had undergone surgery post that and is currently undergoing rehabilitation and recovery at the National Cricket Academy.

As of now, Pant is on the path to recovery from injuries which have kept him out of cricketing action since the start of this year, including missing Border-Gavaskar Trophy and IPL 2023
