Chandrachud that Zubair should not tweet after the court granted him interim bail, Justice Chandrachud said: "It is like telling a lawyer that you should not arguea..How can we tell a journalist that he will not write?"
SC grants bail to Zubair, says 'power of arrest should be used sparingly'
A bench headed by Justice D.Y. Chandrachud said: "There is no reason for deprivation of liberty of the petitioner...to be released on interim bail in each FIR (UP FIRs)...power of arrest should be used sparingly..." The bench said SIT constituted by the Uttar Pradesh government, to investigate the UP FIRs, is rendered redundant and is disbanded.

Additional Sessions Judge Devender Kumar Jangala of Patiala House Courts granted bail to Zubair on the condition to furnish Rs 50,000 bond with one surety and not to leave the country without the permission of Court. A detailed order in the matter is expected to be made available later in the day. The same bench had reserved the pronouncement of the judgement on Thursday.

The plea has also challenged the constitution of a special investigative team (SIT) to probe these cases. Zubair has also sought interim bail in the 6 FIRs. On Tuesday, the Uttar Pradesh government formed a two-member SIT to probe six cases lodged against Zubair in Hathras, Ghaziabad, Muzaffarnagar, Lakhimpur Kheri, and Sitapur.
UP court sends Zubair to 14-day judicial custody
Zubair was presented in the court in a case registered against him under section 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on ground of religion, race, etc.), 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class), 298 (Uttering, words, etc with deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person) of Indian Penal Code and section 67 (publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form) of the Information Technology Act.

Earlier this week, Razorpay received a written notice for transaction data of a specific business (Alt News) for a specific time period under Section 91 of CrPC for the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010 investigation.
