US Coast Guard searching for 39 missing off Florida

The US Coast Guard has said that it is searching for 39 people who were missing after a vessel reportedly capsized off Florida during the weekend. Taking to Twitter, the Coast Guard said on Tuesday that "a good Samaritan" rescued a man clinging to a capsized vessel approximately 45 miles (about 72.4 km) east of Fort Pierce Inlet in Florida, Xinhua news agency reported.
Poland starts building barrier on border with Belarus

The Polish construction company Budimex has been contracted to erect a 105.5-kilometre stretch of the barrier, while Unibep, another firm, is to build the remaining 80.7 kilometres.

Two bodies have been retrieved as a rescue operation was underway Friday night near the Aegean Sea island of Paros, after the sinking of a vessel carrying refugees and migrants, Xinhua news agency reported, citing the Greek media reports. So far, 57 passengers have been rescued, with survivors stating that about 80 people were on board, Greek national news agency AMNA reported.
Migrant caravan to skip Mexico City, head straight to US border

Irineo Mujica, director of immigrant rights group Pueblo Sin Fronteras (People Without Borders) and a leader of the caravan, said in a video posted on social media and cited by local media that the caravan will no longer go first to Mexico's capital, as initially planned, reported Xinhua news agency. Mujica said he expects to be joined by another caravan in 10 days, and urged migrants in other parts of south Mexico to join the journey toward the US border.

Nearly 19,000 unaccompanied children crossed the border in July, almost equal to the record set this March, Xinhua news agency quoted the CBP data released on Friday as saying. Meanwhile, 76,000 parents and children crossed the border together as families, the second-highest total ever and a significant jump from June. The CBP data does not account for people who made it across the border.
