Justice Chandrachud gave a discussion on "Speaking Truth to Power: Citizens and the Law." To combat the spread of fake news, he stated that we must improve our public institutions. "As citizens, we must work to ensure that the press is free of political and economic interference. We require a press that will supply us with unbiased information "Justice Chandrachud stated.

A bench headed by Justice D.Y. Chandrachud said the judiciary must remain free from political pressures and influences. The top court cancelled Singh's bail noting that there has been an abject failure of the police to complete the investigation into the murder. The court took a strong objection to the fact that police officials tried to pressurize the trial court judge to shield the accused.

Chandrachud said that Greta Thunberg, who is one of the strongest voices in the civil society against climate change, began her journey as a lone 15-year-old sitting outside the Swedish Parliament demanding government action against the imminent risks of global warming. He insisted that majoritarian tendencies must be questioned against the background of "our constitutive promise".

During the hearing of a dispute in connection with a purchase of a flat in Punjab's Zirakpur on the outskirts of Mohali, a bench comprising Justices Chandrachud and M.R. Shah was informed by an advocate that the mother of the advocate-on-record, for the respondent, has expired, and he urged the bench to adjourn the matter for four weeks. Justice Shah also said that matter has been pending since 2019 and some counsel should argue it.
