BetterPlace acquires Oust Labs to upskill 10 cr workers

BetterPlace recently raised $24 million in Series C funding from multiple investors, like CX Partners, Jungle Ventures, CDC Group, Capria Ventures and 3One4 Capital, among others. "We are thrilled to welcome Oust as part of the BetterPlace family and help organisations and employees achieve efficiency and excellence. We will make it available to 1,000+ of our enterprise customers and their massive distributed workforce," said Pravin Agarwala, CEO, Co-Founder, BetterPlace.
Healthtech startup MFine bags Rs 356 cr to build a virtual hospital

The startup said the new funds will help it invest into expanding its hospital, diagnostics and e-pharmacy network across the country and building tech-driven care delivery products for both acute and chronic conditions patients.
49 IT companies from Kerala to take part in Dubai GITEX

Besides this, 19 startups from the Kerala Startup Mission will also participate in the event. A majority of the IT companies are from the Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram, while the rest are from the IT parks in Kochi and Kozhikode. Kerala IT Parks CEO John M. Thomas said that the state will organise a special business-to-business meet for expatriate industrialists and entrepreneurs to explore global market opportunities.

Unicorns flipping to avoid Indian regulations

All of them have Indian founders who started off in India. A significant number have operations and their primary market in India. Nearly all have developed their IP using Indian resources in India (human, capital assets, government support etc.). Experts say flipping results in materially adverse impact on national economic interest as the nation loses out on significant tax revenues while ownership of critical data.
52,391 entities recognized as startups, 53 unicorns currently in India

The startups are recognised by Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) and as of July 14, more than 5.7 lakh jobs have been reported by more than 50,000 startups, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry, Som Parkash, told the Lok Sabha in a written reply.
