Hardik Pandya back bowling in the nets; raises hope ahead of New Zealand match

Pandya was seen practicing bowling in the nets on Friday morning in a short video posted by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The video showed India's nets session where Pandya while not bowling at full tilt,  could be spotted rolling his arm over and sending down at least half-a-dozen deliveries.

Currently placed fifth in a group of six teams, India now needs to win the rest of their matches starting from the one against New Zealand, a task which is easier said than done. Quinton de Kock terms it a 'misunderstanding', says ready to take the knee

De Kock had decided to withdraw from the match against West Indies after the Cricket South Africa Board issued a directive asking all players to take the knee before the start of the match. Terming the entire episode as a misunderstanding. de Kock said that he was sorry for "all the hurt, confusion and anger" that his decision has caused. "If me taking a knee helps to educate others. and makes the lives of others better. I am more than happy to do so. I did not in any way mean to disrespect anyone by not playing against West Indies, especially the West Indian team themselves. Maybe some people don't understand that we were just hit with this on Tuesday morning, on the way to a game," de Kock said in a statement on Thursday.

Having both endured opening-match losses at the tournament, the two sides meet in Dubai later on Tuesday, with the loser staring down the prospects of falling too far behind in the semifinal race.

Afridi set up Pakistan's crushing ten-wicket win over India in Dubai on Sunday, as the 2009 champions broke their losing streak against the 2007 champions in 20-over World Cups. His opening burst claimed Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul in power-play. In his final over, he took out India skipper Virat Kohli, thus applying brakes to Ind'a's finishing touches. Overall, he had figures of 3/31 in four overs.

Inserted into batting first, India lost openers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul in the first 13 balls of the innings to Shaheen Shah Afridi. While Sharma was trapped plumb in front of the wicket by a yorker, Rahul was undone by a fast inswinger going through the gate to hit the stumps. Suryakumar Yadav hit a six off Afridi and swept Imad Wasim for four. But his promising stay at the crease ended when he was snapped by keeper Mohammad Rizwan diving to his right to catch the poke off Hasan Ali in the final over of power-play.
