South Africa cricket board revises bio-bubble norms for India tour

"Immediate contacts of anyone testing positive for Covid-19 in the bubble during the South Africa-India series will not need to isolate and leave the bubble, rather will be allowed to quarantine in the hotel room as long as they are clinically stable," the cricket board added. "Contacts will continue playing and training with non-medical interventions strictly observed, and tested daily," he added.

Sharma had recently replaced fellow Mumbaikar Ajinkya Rahane as the vice-captain of the Test side apart from being promoted as India's white-ball captain. Sharma had scored 906 runs in 21 innings at an average of 47.68 and was India's highest run-getter in Test cricket in 2021.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gave the complete white-ball captaincy to Rohit Sharma, who successfully led India to a 3-0 win over New Zealand in the T20I series at home recently, while Kohli will remain captain of the Test side. Sharma was on Wednesday declared new ODI captain by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Virat was reportedly sacked as ODI captain after he failed to voluntarily step down within 48 hours, as demanded by the BCCI. The cricket board has shown a lot of trust in Rohit Sharma and chose him India's new white ball captain.

On Wednesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India declared Rohit Sharma as India's ODI captain. On this decision the BCCI president Sourav Ganguly has opened up and said that the board and selectors took this decision together. In addition to this he also said that the board and he personally had words with Virat Kohli over the decision. The tenure of Rohit Sharma as ODI captain is likely to begin in the series against South Africa in January.
