'Euphoria' is HBO's second-most watched show after 'Game of Thrones'
The Zendaya-led drama hit yet another series high with its Season 2 finale episode Sunday, drawing 6.6 million viewers. According to HBO, 'Euphoria' Season 2 episodes are now averaging 16.3 million viewers, the best performance for any season of an HBO series over the past 18 years, other than 'Game of Thrones'.
Zendaya's 'Euphoria' gets a nod for third season
The show, based on an Israeli miniseries of the same name, is a big success. It enjoys an overwhelming social media traction but it also generates buzz on a weekly basis as the season progresses. The first three installments of Season 2 have nearly doubled in per-episode viewership in comparison to its freshman season, reports Variety.
No actor of colour won an award at the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards despite a diverse nomination field.
During the three-hour ceremony, led by a black host in Cedric the Entertainer, it took two hours for a person of colour to be recognised: 'RuPaul's Drag Race' for Outstanding Reality Competition.
HBO cancels teen show 'Betty' after two seasons
The show, which is based on the 2018 film 'Skate Kitchen' tells the story of a group of girls, who are skateboarders. The two seasons were aired on HBO. According to Variety.com, the channel said in a statement: "We will not be moving forward with a third season of 'Betty'.
HBO, WB movie channels to go off air in India
The decision was announced by WarnerMedia International, who have decided to shut down the HBO SD and HD linear movie channels in India and Pakistan, as well as the WB linear movie channel in India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and Maldives.
