Earlier in the day, the three were held guilty by the court in the case. The court, however, acquitted Atiq Ahmad's brother Ashraf along with six others. It may be recalled that after the killing of BSP MLA Raju Pal on January 25, 2005, Umesh Pal, then a zila panchayat member, had told the police that he was a witness to the murder.
Sharpshooters Rupa, Manu involved in killing of Moosewala shot dead

They were holed up inside a farmhouse and were eliminated in a five hours of exchange of fire. One AK-47 rifle and one pistol were recovered from the encounter site. Moosewala was gunned down on May 29 close to his native village near Mansa in Punjab. The operation was carried out by the Anti-Gangster Task Force at Bhakna village close to the Attari border, where Manpreet Singh, a.k.a. Manu, and Jagroop Singh, a.k.a. Rupa, were holed up.
Tension in K'taka's Shivamogga over Bajrang Dal activist's murder

The police department is on high alert throughout the state after an incident of violence were reported. Fearing large-scale violence, the Shivamogga city has been turned into a police fortress. The Bajrang Dal activist, identified as Harsha, was brutally killed late Sunday night near Ravivarma Street in Bharathi Colony. Harsha was a tailor and held the position of 'Prakanda Sahakaryadarshi' (coordinator) in the district.
Climate actions must be nationally determined: India to COP26 President-designate

During a detailed meeting with COP26 President-designate Alok Sharma from the UK here, Yadav discussed issues relating to climate change nd other related matters and said India will work constructively for successful and balanced outcome at COP26, a release from the MoEF&CC said. The Environment Minister also mentioned about the global initiatives spearheaded by India under Modi's leadership.

Being the deadliest and costliest tropical cyclone in the South-West Indian Ocean, tropical Cyclone 'Idai' was labelled "one of the worst weather-related catastrophes in the history of Africa" by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
