The revenue was also 50 per cent higher than year-ago sales of $16.9 billion, and mostly came from automotive sales which was $21.3 billion in the April-June period. In the second quarter, Tesla produced nearly 480,000 vehicles and delivered over 466,000 vehicles, the company said in a statement late on Wednesday.

Elon Musk himself is under scrutiny for his own $56 billion compensation package, which is facing its own lawsuit that went to trial last year, reports TechCrunch. The settlement will be paid directly to Tesla to benefit the company. The settlement concluded a 2020 lawsuit from a retirement fund that holds Tesla stock.

According to the complaint, the four entities, which are identified only by their IP addresses, unlawfully scraped Twitter user data in violation of the platform’s terms of service. “X Corp identified particular IP addresses -- including those belonging to defendants -- that were flooding Twitter’s sign-up page with automated requests,” said the lawsuit filed in Dallas, Texas. 

As first reported by The Economic Times, citing government sources, the electric car-maker has engaged in talks with Indian officials to set up its auto parts and electronics chain in India, along with seeking incentives and tax benefits. If all goes well, Tesla can reportedly produce 5 lakh electric vehicles annually that starts from Rs 20 lakh.

According to Forbes Real-Time Billionaires List, Arnault is now worth $216 billion, while Musk is worth $200 billion. Musk, who saw his net worth tumble by more than $100 billion in 2022, had been replaced by Arnault as the world's richest man in December last year as well.

Twitter has struggled financially since Musk took over. The financial services giant Fidelity estimated in its monthly report of portfolio valuations that Twitter is now worth just one-third worth of what Musk paid for the micro-blogging platform, reports Bloomberg.
