225 candidates in fray in Feb 27 Nagaland Assembly polls

Tuesday was the last day for filing nomination papers. Election officials said that the nomination papers and other documents would be examined on Wednesday and the last date of withdrawal of candidatures is February 10. Chief Minister and senior Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) leader Neiphiu Rio has filed his nomination.
Tripura polls: IPFT discussing seat-sharing with both ally BJP, opposition TIPRA

IPFT President and state minister Prem Kumar Reang on Sunday said that they held a close door meeting with the TIPRA leaders led by party supremo Pradyot Bikram Manikya Deb Barman in Guwahati on Saturday. "We are now talking with both the BJP and the TIPRA. Our seat-sharing talks remained inconclusive so far. Once this is finalised we would announce it before the public," the veteran tribal leader told IANS.

With the end of eight rounds of counting of votes, BJD's Barsha Singh Bariha got 43,691 votes while BJP nominee Pradip Purohit received 28,150 votes. Congress candidate Satya Bhusan Sahu is in third position with only 1,634 votes.
