The singer, who wishes to be addressed as 'they', started out as a child actor on "Barney & Friends". In 2007, they got a part on a short Disney Channel show called "As The Bell Rings" and then landed the starring role of the film "Camp Rock". Talking about having a celebrity childhood and setting boundaries, Lovato said: "It's never too late to set a boundary with the world and I have learnt that.

"I was trying something that didn't work for me. Now I am doing something that is working for me and, instead of feeling judged by everyone, I'm just going to say that people's opinion of me doesn't matter to me," said Lovato, on "The Drew Barrymore Show".

American singer Demi Lovato has shared a video on Twitter stating the decision to "officially be changing my pronouns to they/them". In a series of tweets Lovato posted on Wednesday (India time), the singer added they would henceforth be identifying as non-binary.
