AIADMK spokesman and former minister D. Jayakumar said that he and former Deputy Speaker Pollachi V. Jayaraman were officially representing the party in the meeting convened by the Chief Electoral Officer Satyabrata Sahoo on Monday and that others who had come to the meeting claiming to be AIADMK does not have any validity.

The general council meeting, which is being held at meeting at Vanagaram in Chennai, also annulled the dual leadership posts of coordinator and co-coordinator which was held respectively by O. Panneerselvam and Palaniswami.

However, party joint coordinator and former Chief Minister K. Palaniswami (EPS) on arrival at the meeting announced that A. Tamilmagan Hussain was appointed as the party's interim presidium Chairman. Tamilmagan Hussain was one of the 11 signatories who walked out of the DMK along with legendary M.G. Ramachandran (MGR) and formed AIADMK. He arrived at the hall to a rousing reception.

Priya meeting a controversial Bishop Ezra Sargunam, who in a speech earlier called upon Christians to punch Hindus hard in the face till they bleed. He had also said that there was nothing called Hindu religion and had asked the Christian faithfuls to beat up anyone who says that Hinduism was a religion.
