Ukrainian officials on Friday claimed that the fire at the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant, which erupted after Russian troops shelled the complex, has been extinguished and the fighting in the area also stopped. In a statement, the country's State Emergency Services said that at about 6.20 a.m., the fire in the training building was extinguished, adding that "there are no victims".

The banned Baloch National Army has claimed responsibility for the attack. As per locals, Lahore's hub of wholesale markets, located around the Lohari Gate area, which is a congested and densely-populated vicinity, was rocked by a powerful blast, claiming lives of at least two, including one teenager, and injuring at least 25 others. Among the injured, 22 are men while three are women.

The blast, according to the Interior Ministry, took place at 09:40 a.m. local time on Tuesday when an improvised explosive device placed in a vase put on the Darul Aman road went off, causing no casualties. "There was a blast on Tuesday morning but left no casualties," Interior Ministry spokesman Qari Sayed Khosti said.

At a press briefing here, Defence Minister Nurlan Yermekbayev said that several people were also reported missing, reports Xinhua news agency. There are no civilians among the dead and injured, he noted. The depot of the engineering and sapper brigade of the Ministry is located in the village of Kainar.
