Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann deplaned in Frankfurt as he was 'too drunk to walk'

As per media reports, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who was on a trip to Germany from September 11-18, delayed his departure as he was reportedly in 'an inebriated state'. However, his party, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has strongly denied the rumours, saying Mann was not deplaned at the Frankfurt airport. The party termed it false and frivolous propaganda by political rivals.

According to a source with the Ministry, the diplomats see it as a question of credibility and said that such tall claims should be avoided as it hurts the credibility of the country and the government too. The source said that it has left the diplomats embarrassed. During Mann's visit to Germany, the Indian diplomats had arranged a meeting. However, after that he announced that BMW had decided to set up a new manufacturing plant in his state.

Mann divorced his first wife, Inderpreet Kaur in 2015, with whom he has two children - 21-year-old daughter Seerat and 17-year-old son Dilshan. Amid a wave of 'basanti' and chants of 'Rang de Basanti', a revolutionary song, AAP leader and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who donned his traditional 'basanti' turban, took oath of office on Wednesday in this village of legendary freedom fighter Bhagat Singh, who laid down his life for the country's Independence, amidst a mass gathering of some 400,000 audience. He ended the oath that he took in Hindi with slogan 'Inquilab Zindabad' or 'Long live the revolution'.
