Google updates Wear OS apps for upcoming Pixel Watch
The Phone, Fitbit, and Weather apps were being updated ahead of the launch event of the new wearable on Thursday (US time). A new Weather app has been added for Wear OS 3 smartwatches. The app only displays the weather of the current location of the wearer. When permission is given, weather data from weather.com, UV index, precipitation, and forecasts for the following eight hours and the following five days are displayed.
Android app for Dynamic Island-like features surpasses 1 mn downloads
According to app developer Jawomo, DynamicSpot gives users a Dynamic Island mini multitasking feature, making it easier to access recent notifications or phone status changes. "As DynamicSpot uses Android's notification system, it is compatible with almost all apps, like messaging notification, timer apps and even music apps!" the company has mentioned on Google Play.

Apple extends in-app purchase exemption for online group events
Apple announced, in 2020, to support apps and developers that needed to adapt services from in-person to digital as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. Specifically, it deferred App Store Review Guideline 3.1.1, which requires apps offering paid online group services to do so via in-app purchase.
