Anurag Thakur, in a series of tweets, reminded Rahul that he could never become "Veer Savarkar even in his wildest dreams" because Veer Savarkar's name stands for grit, determination, staunch patriotism for Bharat, selflessness and commitment to the motherland.

Addressing a press conference in Nagpur, Thakur said: "Abusive language in the name of creativity will not be tolerated. The government is serious about the complaints of increasing abusive and obscene content on OTT platforms. If there is a need to make any changes in the rules regarding this, the ministry is willing to consider that."

Rahul Gandhi claims that he is not given the opportunity to speak in the Parliament whereas his attendance in Lok Sabha is lower than the average attendance," the Lok Sabha MP from Hamirpur told the media persons. The Minister further said Rahul Gandhi should apologise for making such remarks on foreign soil.

In a series of tweets, the minister castigated the foreign media for defaming the country and the prime minister. "New York Times had long back dropped all pretensions of neutrality while publishing anything about India. NYT's so called opinion piece on freedom of press in Kashmir is mischievous & fictitious published w/ a sole motive to spread a propaganda about India.

It appears that he has taken a contract to defame India abroad, he added. Speaking to the media this morning, minister Thakur said, "Be it among his foreign friends, agencies or foreign land - he's leaving no stone unturned to defame India. To hide his failures, he has taken a contract to defame India from foreign land in a planned manner.

Thakur on Friday demanded an answer to Gandhi not submitting his mobile phone for the investigation into the Pegasus issue. He added: "What did the leader (Gandhi), who is out on bail in a corruption case had in his phone that he needed to hide? Why did he and the other leaders not submit their phones?"

"Rahul Gandhi should worry about his party. Our Army under the strong leadership of PM Modi carried out surgical strike, and Balakot air strike and gave a befitting reply in Doklam. People like Rahul Gandhi question the Army and insult them," said Mr Thakur.

Thakur said that in 2021-22, under one of the biggest victories of the government's rescue operations, 1.83 crore citizens were brought back home during the pandemic. Elaborating on the rescue operations carried out by the government over the years, Thakur specified that saving Indian lives in distress has been a paramount concern for the government and India has been at the forefront of the operations across the globe.

Thakur, while addressing the media, said that a reduction of 168 per cent was recorded in the incidents of terrorism and claimed that there was a decline of 80 per cent in the extremist violence in northeast.

Anurag Thakur also gave Manish Sisodia a new name - 'Money Shh...' - saying that he makes money and maintains silence. Addressing the media at the party headquarters a day after the CBI raided the residence and office of Sisodia in connection with the case, Thakur said that the entire country and the world can now see the corruption of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). He said Kejriwal is No. 1 in making new records of corruption and after the liquor scam, Sisodia is now even unable to answer the queries of journalists.
